A clearer starting point for your project

ConsCalc is a collection of free construction and landscaping calculators at buildingcalculator.org. The project helps homeowners, gardeners and people planning small building jobs turn measurements into material estimates before speaking with a supplier or placing an order.

Our tools cover gravel, mulch, topsoil, sand, river rock, concrete, concrete blocks and pavers. You can use them without creating an account, subscribing or entering payment details.

What makes an estimate useful

A number is only useful when you understand what it includes. Our calculator pages explain the measurements they need, the units used and the assumptions behind the result. Where a calculation depends on material density, bag yield, joint spacing or an allowance, that detail belongs beside the estimate or in the supporting explanation.

Each tool has its own supporting content. A bag comparison can help when buying mulch; a block count needs an explanation of wall area and openings. We aim to answer the questions that matter to that particular calculation rather than fill every page with the same topics.

Published by the ConsCalc Editorial Team

ConsCalc Editorial Team is the publishing name used for the project's calculator explanations, source notes and supporting content. It identifies the project responsible for the pages; it is not a claim of engineering accreditation or an independent professional review.

Our calculation checks show how mulch volume and net wall area become whole-bag and whole-block estimates. The methodology also explains our use of sources and how to report a correction. Product-specific details should be checked against the current information supplied by the manufacturer or seller.

Free tools, realistic expectations

ConsCalc provides planning estimates, not a site survey, structural design or supplier quotation. Actual quantities can change with ground conditions, installation methods, compaction, cutting and the product delivered. Confirm those details before ordering or starting work.

We plan to support the site with advertising while keeping the calculators free. Our Privacy Policy explains the current use of data and our planned Google services.
