Terms of Use
The scope and limitations of ConsCalc tools and website content.

Using ConsCalc
These terms describe use of buildingcalculator.org, its calculators and supporting content, published under the ConsCalc Editorial Team name. Please read them before relying on a result. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
The calculators are currently free to use and do not require a visitor account or payment. Information about personal data and browser storage is set out separately in our Privacy Policy.
Planning estimates, not project approval
Calculator results are estimates based on the values entered and the method described on the relevant page. They are intended to help with preliminary material planning. They are not a quotation, a guaranteed order quantity, an inspection or confirmation that a proposed construction method is suitable.
ConsCalc does not provide structural engineering, geotechnical assessment, architectural approval or building-code certification. A volume or item count cannot establish the strength, stability or safety of a project. Obtain qualified professional advice where the work requires it.
Your measurements and product details
You are responsible for choosing the correct tool, entering accurate measurements, selecting the right units and reviewing the assumptions. Actual requirements can differ because of irregular ground, moisture, grading, compaction, settlement, cuts, breakage, joints, installation methods or product tolerances.
Before purchasing, confirm product dimensions, density, bag yield, pack size, delivery quantities and any allowance with your supplier or installer. Costs calculated from prices you enter are arithmetic estimates, not current market quotations. Taxes, transport and other charges may need separate consideration.
Accuracy, changes and availability
We aim to make formulas and assumptions understandable, but errors, omissions or outdated references can occur. We do not guarantee that every result or external source is complete, current or suitable for a particular purpose. See Our Methodology for how the tools are explained.
Tools and content may be corrected, changed or temporarily unavailable. Where permitted by applicable law, the website is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Permitted use
You may use the tools for personal or business project planning and use the resulting estimates in your own work. You may link to our pages and quote short passages with attribution where the law permits.
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with the website, distribute malicious code or impose an unreasonable load on the service. Permission to use a calculator does not grant permission to copy and republish the site's articles, design, illustrations or code as your own. Any rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected.
Sources, external links and advertising
Links to manufacturers, suppliers and other sources are provided for reference. ConsCalc does not control those websites, their products or their policies. Mentioning a product or linking to a source does not imply a partnership, endorsement or professional certification.
The site may display advertising when the planned advertising service is activated. An advertisement is not a recommendation from the ConsCalc Editorial Team. Transactions with a supplier or advertiser are between you and that provider.
Responsibility and legal rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, ConsCalc is not responsible for losses arising from reliance on an estimate without appropriate measurement, product verification or professional assessment. This includes purchasing decisions, shortages, excess materials or project delays caused by assumptions that do not match actual conditions.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or removes mandatory consumer or other legal rights. The limitations above apply only to the extent permitted in the relevant circumstances.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the website changes. The date at the top identifies the current revision. For questions, permissions or error reports, contact [email protected] or visit our contact page.
